What is the CorCap Device for Heart Failure Treatment?
CorCap Device for Heart Failure TreatmentAcorn’s CorCap Cardiac Support Device (CorCap CSD) is a knitted polyester mesh fabric that is designed to fit around the heart. The CorCap CSD is intended to gently support the heart and may be able to prevent some of the structural changes associated with heart failure progression (enlarged heart, round shape) and help the heart to pump more efficiently. This could potentially improve some of the common symptoms of heart failure, such as fatigue, shortness of breath, swelling, and chest pain.

The CorCap CSD is an investigational device, which means that Acorn has clearance from the US regulatory body, the Food and Drug Administration, to study the safety and efficacy of the CorCap CSD in people.  Certain patients who meet specific medical criteria may be eligible to participate in the clinical study.
